Old Window Hothouses
Our Roma tomatoes are so slow to ripen that I am scared the encroaching frost will ruin them. To help the ‘maters along we took old wood frame windows from the Restore and butted them up against the wooden stakes I had my plants tied to make little hot houses. There is between two and four inches at the top of each set to allow for adequate venting. Wish me luck, I have my heart set on a dozen jars of diced tomatoes and at least half that in bruschetta mix.
